Recently, Headway has completed the BWMS retrofitting of 19000m3 cargo oil tanker with framo pump at Gemark shipyard in Turkey. The project was from an Italian shipowner, designed independently by Headway team and installed with Headway supervision. The success of the retrofitting is a sign that Headway has fully mastered this type of modification on deck of vessel. So far, Headway has been able to handle all ship types of BWMS retrofitting.
The vessel uses framo deep-well pump without pump room, which is the most difficult retrofitting ship type. Retrofitting requires comprehensive consideration of various factors such as structure, electrical, pipeline, outfitting etc, which makes the retrofitting work heavy with high design requirements. Headway retrofitting team has confirmed the detailed and feasible deck installation scheme through professional 3D scanning. Shipowner and shipyard prefabricated most pipelines in advance according to the drawing, and the construction period was greatly shortened. Shipowner’s superintendent manager wrote to Headway after the completion to express his appreciation to the professional team of Headway and his affirmation to the performance of Headway OceanGuard BWMS.
With the development of BWMS retrofitting market, more and more shipowners have started the retrofitting plan, meanwhile, the requirements for BWMS manufacturers are higher and higher.
