Project of ＂Ballast Water Management System Development＂ had been approved by specialist group authenticate. The applications of the research result-OceanGuard TM Ballast Water Management System have covered bulk cargo carrier, container ship, oil tanker, luxury cruise, research vessel, multi-purpose vessel, semi-submerged ship, tug, platform supply vessel, coastal patrol vessel and so on.
The expert's argument meets on the key research project of the ministry of Industry and Information Technology ＂Ballast Water Management System Development＂ held in Qingdao successfully in the morning of August 29th, 2012. It was accepted and approved by specialist group authenticate.
As an important high-tech ship research project supported by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, OceanGuard TMBallast Water Management System was researched and developed by both leading universities in China and Qingdao Headway Technology Co., Ltd. The project aimed at the extremely severe problem of ballast water treatment, and finally developed OceanGuard TM Ballast Water Management System with completely independent intellectual property rights by researching, optimizing and improving ballast water management technology. Three key technologies of high-precision filter technology, high-efficiency advanced electro-catalytic Oxidation process and high-intelligent control technology were adopted in the process of management while hydroxyl radicals with high sterilization efficiency were produced by anode, which were able to kill different bacteria, viruses, algae and dormant ovum in ballast water effectively and carried out advanced management on the water in the ballast tank, fully meeting IMO-D2 regulation, California and USCG requirement. In addition, the project had passed the test of a real ship; got the IMO final approval and obtained Type Approval Certificate issued by DNV and CCS. Its advantages of worldwide unique electro-catalytic advanced oxidation process (AEOP), the high sterilization efficiency and low power consumption had gone beyond the European brands, which is a big leap among national brands of marine equipment.
As of now, the project has 10 granted patents, including an international invention patents, two domestic invention patent and seven model patents. The project achievement- OceanGuard TM Ballast Water Management System has been installed 16 ship sets, 10 of which are export products and 80% of the customers are foreign ship-owners. Moreover, 60 ship sets of orders have been signed, which are in the production stage right now while two hundred of projects are under negotiation……much higher than other domestic manufacturers’ delivery and installation. This also shows the grand blueprint that Headway determined to install high-end marine equipment made in China to all the ships around the world.
Although the success acceptance of this project, Headway will also adhere to the innovative and pioneering spirit, continue to improve and optimize the product; the two project units will continue to play their respective cooperative advantages of production, study and research and make a model of cooperation. It is believed that for the strong support of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and continuous efforts of Headway, it will make more remarkable achievements in the field of high-end marine equipment, become a wonder of China Blue Silicon Valley Strategy in China, and do a greater contribution to China Ship Equipment Industry.
